Art Hanging for Everyone.
Picture hanging for Wellington, Lower Hutt and beyond.
A picture hanging service for homes in the Greater Wellington Region. Michael will help you work out what looks best where, and hang them securely on the wall for you…
We’ve all been there—staring at blank walls, unsure where to start.
You may have renovated recently, or perhaps you’ve had pictures sitting around years waiting to go up. Maybe you’re worried about making unnecessary holes or choosing the ‘wrong’ spot. But your art deserves to be seen, and I can take the stress out of the process.
Art hanging is not just for galleries & collectors, and if you feel hesitant because you only have a few things that are ‘not worth much’, or that living outside the central city would be wasting my time, then this service is definitely for you.
It doesn’t matter if you have family photos, a kid’s masterpiece, a Trademe score or an op-shop find; what matters is that the things you love go where they look their best, and I’m here to help make that happen.

Furniture arrangement
The foundation of any great hang is having your furniture positioned in a way that ‘anchors’ the room and brings it to life. If you feel like you need help with this, I’m your man.

Q: How do you charge?
I charge by the hour, with a minimum call-out fee. If you live further afield (such as Wairarapa or Kapiti) I may charge for travel time. Please enquire for up to date rates.
FAQs
Q: What details do you need before you come over?
I try to come prepared for most scenarios, but the main things that are good to know are:
How many pieces you have.
If you have any heavy or over-sized works.
If you have any concrete or old pre-Gib walls to hang on.
If you need something hung up high (such as on a stairwell wall).
If you have any unusual works that need special installation.
Q: Do I need to be home when you are here?
Even if you’ve already decided where things are hanging, I will still need someone there to hold things up while I stand back (or vice versa) to get the right position on the wall. I can bring someone to help me do this, as long as you don’t mind the extra charge.
There are ‘standard’ heights I can use to hang things by myself, but I find these are rarely useful, since every scenario is different.
Q: I want to hang a heavy piece where there are no studs. Is that possible?
In most cases yes, there are fixings made for the job. I will weigh your work and use hangers that are made to take the load.
Q: Can you hang a glass-framed work above my bed and make it safe in an earthquake?
Yes, I do have hooks that are made to be earthquake proof, though they can only be used with strung works. There are other options depending on the particulars of the piece. Let me know if this is a requirement.
