Art Hanging Installation: Stable, Safe & Aligned.
An art hanging installation service for accuracy and durability, because even stunning artworks can fail to impress if installed poorly.
Hanging Pictures the Professional Way.
For many people whacking a nail into a wall is enough for hanging a picture, while for others something a little more stable is required that will keep things straight, secure and safe from knocks and vibrations.
Ideally, a good old-fashioned picture hook does the trick, but the weight of the object, the hardware on the back, the type of walls you have, and the presence of studs are all factors that can affect how your work gets attached to the wall.
When you use my installation services in Wellington, I’ll take all these factors into consideration and use the appropriate method for the situation. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Precision and Accuracy.
Familiar art, photos, and mirrors come alive when they are hung properly. I have tools and techniques to ensure that pieces are level & end up right where they need to be on the wall.
Durability and Versatility.
With quality fixings and flexible mounting options for heavy art and mirrors, I use a professional picture hanging kit for secure and damage-free results—preventing slips, falls, or wall gouges that DIY mishaps invite.
Save Time and Hassle.
Avoid measuring troubles, unsightly mistakes and ladder mishaps. Let me handle the niggly stuff, freeing you up to focus on other priorities…
Art and Picture Installation Specialities.
Art preparation is about using the right tools for the job, and for some tasks a little extra know-how goes a long way. When something more than hooks and nails is required, I’ll make sure you’re in good hands:
Mirror Hanging.
Hanging mirrors can be a daunting task, especially when they’re large and cumbersome. With so much glass and framing, they can get very heavy, and sometimes two people are required even to lift them off the ground.
I will weigh your mirror and use wall fixings that are made to hold the weight. Studs are seldom necessary to hold even a large amount of weight, so you can have things where you want them, not where your house tells you they have to go.
Hanging Art on Concrete Walls.
Hanging pictures on concrete and brick can be very difficult using standard drills and masonry bits, which can leave you standing there for ages making little or no progress. Depending on the substrate, it can also be a very messy process, since a lot of dust gets created that drifts into the room.
I can make short work of the task with special tools that will cut through concrete like butter, and with the right wall plugs, screws, and hooks, your work will be secure for years to come. I’ll also keep things tidy with a vacuum to remove dust before it gets released into the room.
Earthquake & Child-Proofing Artworks.
Surprisingly, most Wellingtonians I hang pictures for aren’t fussed about the potential impact of a large earthquake on their artworks. This is possibly because insurance will cover damage, and they feel there will be bigger concerns to have in such an event.
There are, however, cases where extra care and attention are required. Take objects that are hung above a bed for example, or if young children are around, or if there is a high monetary or sentimental value attached to a work. In such cases it’s best to minimise the risk of mishaps and damage.
I carry a few different kinds of earthquake and child-proof picture hanging hooks that will make sure your works stay on the wall where they belong. The next step up from there is to bracket them to the wall, which is often overkill for most of my clients and takes longer to install, but it’s certainly an option.
